Whether you're enjoying a work stint in London or just passing through on your travels, don't miss this opportunity to experience the truly unique atmosphere of English Premiership football. Like so many ex-pats living in London over the past ten years, you're sure to take the Cottagers to heart - they truly are THE club for football fans & sports lovers in London.
Fulham are an extremely proud supporter of Australian football, having hosted numerous Socceroos' internationals in recent years against the likes of Nigeria, Jamaica, Norway & New Zealand. With Aussie goalkeeping legend Mark Schwarzer bewteen the posts, the icing is on the cake.
Fulham FC History
Fulham is the oldest of London’s first class clubs dating back to 1879 as a Sunday-school team knocking a ball around on a long-forgotten park pitch. By 1896 the club was established and moved to its new home of Craven Cottage where today, 112 years on, it proudly sits as one of the jewels of English football.
Fulham's rise to the multi-million pound Premiership is one of the great success stories in English football.
In the 1960's Fulham rose to the top flight of English football in the then First Division and enjoyed bumper crowds with such big names as Man United & Arsenal making the journey to play beside the banks of the Thames. But success was short lived and the ensuing decades saw the club slowly spiral to the very bottom of league football.
Thus began the most meteoric rise in Premiership history. In 1996 multi millionaire & Harrods owner Mohamed Al-Fayed dug deep, purchased the club and inspired a renewed vision & passion to see Fulham make it back with the big boys. Success was immediate. Fulham finished 2nd in Div 3 in 1996-97, won the 2nd Division title in 1999, and in 2001 finally earned promotion to the cut throat world of the Premier League where it has remained ever since.
After several years firmly entrenched in the top flight, season 2007-08 saw Fulham pull off one of the greatest relegation escapes ever, pegging back its rivals over six nail-biting final rounds of the season.
The following season (2008-09) Fulham finished an incredible 7th place in the EPL, ahead of the likes of Tottenham & Man City, to catapult them into the dizzying heights of European football by way of the UEFA Europa League. Unfazed, Fulham proceeded to stun the footballing world by going all the way to the final before narrowly going down 2-1 to Atletico Madrid in the dying seconds of extra time. In season 2012-13, under the guidance of manager Martin Jol, Fulham will again be striving for a top seven finish and the chance to embark on yet another European odyssey.
The Stadium
Fulham's home ground is officially known as Craven Cottage. The actual 'Cottage' is a heritage building that forms the symbolic backbone of this historic club, quietly overlooking the pristine turf & a century of tradition. Today it continues to house the Club rooms, team changing facilities & VIP match day balcony.
Located along the banks of the River Thames in south-west London and just a stone's throw from fierce rivals Chelsea, Craven Cottage stadium is one of the most picturesque in England. Two traditional English stands flank the sidelines, whilst each end boasts impressive banked seating which houses the majority of the 26,000 seating capacity.
Fulham's traditional supporters stand is called the Hammersmith End. Away fans stare straight back at them from the Putney End stand at the opposite end of the stadium, making for an atmosphere that is everything you ever heard and expected from an English Premiership fixture. Parochial and boisterous, Fulham fans are renowned for their vocal support - you'll be singing along in no time to the many chants & choruses the locals pull out each week.
Fanatics Seats
Fanatics tickets are sensationally seated in the front two rows of the Hammersmith End Block H4 (click 'Craven Cottage Stadium Map' below the photos on this page), ensuring you'll enjoy not only a superb close up view of all the action on the field, but also be immersed in a true English football atmosphere. You'll find yourself closer to the action than any other stadium in the world, and unless you're hiding under your seat chances are you'll spot yourself on TV during Match of the Day! We are seated just to the side of the posts between the 6 & 18 yard box. You'll be blown away by how good it is!
Match Day
Access to the stadium by public transport is extremely easy from anywhere in London, with nearby tube stations Putney Bridge (District Line) & Hammersmith (Picadilly Line) only a short walk away. Numerous bus routes also pass by or very near to the stadium.
Get ready for a another massive season...come on Fulham!
