Sharpe flies out to join Wallabies
25/08/2008 07:13:06 PM

Wallabies reinforcement Nathan Sharpe will join his team-mates north of Durban later on Monday after boarding a flight from Australia overnight.

The Western Force captain was the notable omission form the original Australian touring squad, but a shoulder injury to lineout chief Dan Vickerman in Australia's 27-15 win over the Springboks on Saturday resulted in coach Robbie Deans sending the SOS.

The Wallabies will be chasing back-to-back wins over the Springboks for the first time in 45 years when they line up against the world champions at Ellis Park in Johannesburg on Saturday.

Australia have only once won successive Tests in South Africa - in 1963 when the Wallabies beat the Boks 9-5 in Cape Town and 11-9 in Johannesburg two weeks later.
