Police have praised the overall good behaviour of football fans during the NRL preliminary final in Sydney.

Parramatta is through to the grand final after a 22-12 win over the Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium in Homebush on Friday night.

Assistant Commissioner Peter Lennon said the crowd of almost 75,000 was mostly well behaved, but 25 men were ejected for anti-social behaviour and intoxication.

Four of the men were issued with field court attendance notices for offences including assaulting police, hindering police and resisting arrest, he said.

A spectator was issued an infringement notice for invading the field and he will be banned from attending future rugby league matches.

"The crowd was generally well behaved with the majority of the crowd travelling to and from the stadium by public transport," Mr Lennon said in a statement.

"It was pleasing to see so many families turning out to cheer their team."

After the game police monitored neighbouring suburbs and two men were charged over separate incidents at Belmore railway station.

An 18-year-old Greenacre man was charged with assaulting police, hindering police and using offensive language, while a 20-year-old Belmore man was charged with hindering police and using offensive language.

Both men are due to appear at Burwood Local Court on October 19.
