Waratahs win soured by Rogers injury

The NSW Waratahs stormed to a 46-10 win over the Cats but a potentially serious injury to star fullback Mat Rogers cast a dark shadow over their Super 12 rugby win at Aussie Stadium.
Rogers' Super 12 season is in doubt after he was assisted from the field on a medi-cab after his left ankle twisted beneath him when he was tackled in the final minute of the six-try romp.
He was taken for x-rays with possible ligament damage.
NSW coach Ewen McKenzie said it was "unlikely" Rogers would join the NSW side which flies out to South Africa , where they play two matches.
"We're aren't sure about the injury but he's in a lot of pain," McKenzie said.
"He got his toe caught as he was tackled ... we're just hoping for his sake it's not a long term injury."
In another blow the Waratahs have also lost winger Milton Thaiday, who requires further tests on a mystery stomach bug and will miss the South African games.
In some much-needed good news, veteran Wallaby Matt Burke came through his first Super 12 match unscathed after recovering from a shoulder injury, coming off the bench for the final 20 minutes.
Although Burke played five-eighth, he's a ready-made replacement for Rogers with the ability to play fullback and kick goals.
Before the injury Rogers delivered a man-of-the-match performance, continuing his swash-buckling form this year.
