"Levent who?" was the first thing I said when I recieved an email following a past tour. No idea who that was until I saw who signed it, Mongrel...Mongrel to his family, Mongrel to his mates.

1.Name:
Levent Toriyen.

2. Nickname(s):
Mongrel.

3. High School:
Warilla High.

4. What city are you living in:
Sensational Sydney.

5. First Fanatics Tour:
Barcelona 2000.

6. What do you do when you are not on tour:
Plan my next tour.

7. Favourite sporting moment while on tour with the Fanatics:
Being interviewed by a Brazilian sports show at the Floripa tie by a gorgeous Brazillian woman for 15 - 20 minutes on a panel of Brazilian sporting celebrities then being invited to the players locker room after Lleyton ripped Guga apart ‘coz Fitzy, Wally & the boys had seen my interview live & were so impressed that they all wanted me there.

8. Favourite non-sporting moment while on tour with the Fanatics:
Skinny dipping at midnight with a first time fanatic girl in Floripa, at the Sunday night beach party while everybody was there and basically watching.

9. One sporting event you haven't been to but would love to attend:
The Soccer World Cup Final.

10. Where would people find you at 3am on a regular Saturday night:
Legless outside some top live music Pub.

11. When you are on tour who is one person you hate rooming with & why:
Dingo, ‘coz he’s a bad influence on me & makes me consume far too much alcohol!!!

12. Which song will always get you dancing on the bar:
Ka’ San.

13. Favourite drink:
Double Bundy & coke, with a beer chaser.

14. Creation or evolution:
Evolution.

15. Coke or Pepsi:
As long as it’s got a double bundy in it who gives a shiite???

16. Capitalist or Socialist:
Neither! I believe there’s got to be a happy medium somewhere.

17. Club or Pub: Pub.

18. Which moment has the most significance in Australian sporting history, was it Cliff Young winning the Sydney to Melbourne marathon running in gumboots, Australia 2's winged keel, Pat Cash's checkered headband, the invention of the padded Torpedo bikepants for under rugby shorts, David Boons 56 tinnies on the flight to London, the collapse of the Hobart DevilsNBL franchise, Warrick Cappers pink Ferrari & mullet haircut or something else:
The ’91 Rugby World Cup Winning Wallabies. I was there, partied with the boys & it has done so much for the whole game in Australia.

19. If you could invite 5 people to share a six pack of long necks with who would they be & why:

  • Plato – no other philosopher has ever been as interesting and I’d like to learn from such a teacher.
  • Leonardo De Vinci – the man was highly intelligent as he demonstrated by inventing things way beyond his own time.
  • Marie Curie – To ask her why, as a very intelligent person, when she discovered the adverse properties of Uranium, that she didn’t abandoned her work.
  • Rita Hayworth – just to get a chance of getting in her pants, as she’s the best Hollywood has ever produced.
  • Finally, but most importantly, my Dad – as I was over seas when he past away, and there’s nothing more I’d like to be able to do than have one last beer with him and say good-bye.

20. Can you give the people of Australia a tip:
As an Australian who left these beautiful shores, 12 years ago, to seek what the world had to offer, and to experience other cultures, people and ways of life, the one and only thing I’ve learnt and the advice I’d bestoe on my fellow Aussies, is that, after seeing over 65 countries, living and working in 4 other lands, thank the stars for this great land of ours, and by a very great majority to her inhabitants, as we are so lucky to have the life style that we do, this fantastic country, and for the most part are pretty well loved and envied by the rest of the world, even though we more often than not kick there arses in every sport we play. So don’t take it for granted, even when the petrol prices are high, or the politicians are pissing you off, ‘coz there are so many places and so many more ways your life could be worse than it seems to you that it is now.
