All of our US Masters customers receive our fantastic souvenir merchandise including commemorative golf polo shirt & golf cap plus a set of personalised Fanatics Titleist golf balls complete with you own name on each ball.

Fanatics is famous for producing some of the best merchandise in the sports travel industry and our US Masters apparel is no exception. Our customers proudly sport their new kit when teeing up at their home club after the tour, much to the envy of their fellow club members.

Your Days at the Masters with Fanatics

A common theme among all our US Masters customers is their enjoyment of mixing together with fellow golf 'Fanatics' from Australia and around the world. We are also acutely aware that most people are keen to see as much golf and take in as much of the Augusta National atmosphere as possible, so our schedule coupled with our dedicated tour reps ensures you will enjoy every moment of your cherished Masters experience.

Each morning we travel together on our short 10 minute coach ride from our hotels to Augusta National, ensuring you are able to soak up everything the Masters has to offer - from the practice range to the day's first drive right through to the final putt on 18, you won't miss a minute of the action. If by chance you'd prefer a later start or an earlier finish we also have transfer times to suit. The coach ride itself is always a great social start to the day and sets the tone for a fantastic day of golf action ahead, plus your experienced Fanatics Masters reps will be on hand to provide all the best tips on getting around Augusta National. You are most welcome to watch the golf with your fellow Fanatics or do your own thing - the choice is yours.

Being a golf major, the dress standards for all patrons at Augusta National requires the wearing of normal golfing or smart casual attire - collared shirt, tailored shorts or slacks, walking shoes or golf shoes. Chances are you'll end up grabbing at least one or two items from the official merchandise store inside the course. And don't worry, you won't be required to kit up in our usual Presidents Cup style outfits at the Masters.

Upon returning to the hotel after the golf each day you will definitely enjoy sharing stories from your day with your fellow Fanatics complete with complimentary drinks (local beers & wine) and snacks before freshening up & heading out to dinner together.

Flights to the USA + Transfers to/from Augusta

Fanatics is a fully registered travel agent & able to cater for all your international flight needs in conjunction with your Masters package.

By far the the cheapest travel option is to fly into Atlanta Airport (230km from Augusta) or Columbia Airport (110km), then take either a transfer or hire a car & self-drive to Augusta. The roads are great and directions very simple using sat-nav.

A shuttle from Atlanta Airport to Augusta will cost around $360 for up to 4 passengers. Local bus services are an even cheaper option.

Flights in & out of Augusta Airport (AGS) are more expensive around Masters time and most require a change at Atlanta or Charlotte, if coming in from LA for example. US Airways and Delta are the two main airlines with regular services into AGS. Upon arrival at AGS it's approx 13 miles/$50 taxi ride to the hotel or Augusta National.

After the Masters, Fanatics operate a group transfer from our Augusta hotel to Atlanta Airport on the Monday morning. Private transfers can also be arranged. Please contact our office for details.

Game of Golf on Friday 6th April

Friday is our dedicated golfing day and the chance to put your own game to the test with 18 holes at one of Augusta's best clubs. In 2017, our passengers enjoyed a sensational round at Forest Hills Golf Club Options, which was US$168 per person and this included green fee, cart hire and local taxes plus complimentary lunch. Reservations are available after you have booked your Fanatics US Masters package.

Which Days Should I Attend Augusta National?

For the majority of golf fans, doing two days at Augusta is the ideal approach and sits within realistic reach of most travelling budgets. Two days enables you to get out & explore the course and develop your bearings on your first full day, then really engross yourself in the tournament & soak up the atmosphere on your second day. Needless to mention, if you have the budget & time to join us for the full tournament then that's unbeatable!

Wednesday is the annual Par 3 Contest and the only day you are permitted to take a camera into Augusta National. It's always a very special day as some of the former greats of the game tee up alongside today's stars, the player's wives & children join in as caddies, and the crowd share an up close & personal afternoon with the best in the business.

Thursday is championship opening day and with anticipation riding high it's always a special atmosphere.

Saturday & Sunday sees the field cut to 60-odd contenders and the stakes raised for those within reach of the top of the leaderboard. Mornings give you the chance to follow your favourties bidding to make their move whilst the afternoons' focus shifts to the final few pairings.

Note that on Friday, primarily for those staying the full six nights in Augusta, you have the option of either: joining our Fanatics Golf Day at Augusta's Forest Hills GC (green fee approx US$168 per player); purchasing a Friday badge for the Masters (call us for a quote); or enjoying a relaxing free day in Augusta.

What is the spectator viewing like at Augusta National?

If there's one thing that everyone comments on when they first attend Augusta National, it's how vast and undulating the terrain is around the course. This helps make Augusta National one of the best viewing courses in world golf and infinitely more spectator friendly than most British Open venues for example. Our experienced US Masters reps are on hand to give you the best possible advice on how to plan your days, as well as share their insight and experience on each & every hole around the course.

Another unique feature of Augusta National is its folding chair policy. Available for just $30, your folding chair may be set up within any one of the many chair-only sections around the course. The chairs are available to purchase every day of the tournament (i.e. they never sell out) and whilst it's not everyone's cup of tea, it's a great option for those who like to sit tee or greenside and watch the field filter through. Your Fanatics tour reps will give you the best advice on where & how to set up your chair, particularly on the 18th.

Non-Masters Attendee Discount

If you are travelling with a partner, friend or family member who does not wish to attend the Masters, only a small fee is payable for them to share your room in Augusta (i.e. you pay the single share package price plus only USD $150 for the extra person in the room per 3 nights). Please contact our office for details.

The Venue

The hallowed grounds of the Augusta National Golf Club provide the perfect backdrop for a tournament that is every bit as colourful as the azaleas that burst into flower to welcome the world every April. Indeed, the course was originally the site of a plant nursery and its heritage is ever present courtesy not only of its perfectly manicured fairways and gardens but also in the names of each of its magnificent 18 holes including Magnolia (5th), Camellia (10th) and Redbud (16th) to name just a few.

The tournament itself serves as testimony to both the old school traditions of the game plus that uncanny American ability to put on a spectacle that is larger than life. From the moment you set foot inside Augusta National you’ll be mesmerised by its indelible beauty and palpable atmosphere. Starting with the antics of Wednesday’s Par 3 Contest to the tension of the opening holes on Thursday and all the drama down the stretch on Sunday, the Masters unquestionably lives up to its fairytale-like reputation.

From a spectator perspective, the accommodating nature of the course’s rolling terrain makes for incredible viewing on the vast majority of holes and ensures you get much more than just a fleeting glimpse of the game’s best in action. It truly is an amphitheatre of dreams. The icing on the cake is the immaculate standard of services & conveniences around the course which are refreshingly devoid of the usual temporary feel that you’d normally associate with a golf tournament. And yet, surprisingly, food & beverage “concessions” serve up an array of fare at prices that will invariably make you blink twice...think beer $3, sandwiches $3, coffee $1, water $1.50. If it’s not heaven, you can certainly see it from Augusta National!

If you're keen to experience the Masters book your place now then start preparing for your golfing trip of a lifetime.

Guaranteed Badges

All of our tours and packages come with guaranteed badge entry to Augusta National.

Our reputation speaks for itself. Every one of our 500+ Fanatics customers has received his or her Masters badge for every day, without fail. Few if any other operators can boast such an impeccable record and our expertise is second to none.

US Masters Entry 'Badge'

Unlike most sporting events, aside from a tiny number of oversubscribed ballot tickets, there are essentially no public tickets for the Masters championship days - entry is by ‘badge’. Nor does the event have any visible corporate sponsors, marquees, private suites, advertising boards, etc.

The 40,000 people who walk through the gates of Augusta National each day during Masters week are not considered fans, nor are they a crowd or even a gallery. They are “patrons” who have the privilege of attending the event and adhering to the club's high standards of etiquette.

To highlight this point, CBS commentator Jack Whitaker made the mistake of referring to a patron gallery as a "mob" during the 1966 telecast. He wasn’t invited back.

Badges allowing entry to Augusta National are the property of "patrons", many of whom have held their entitlement for many decades. Badges entitle the patron the privilege of accessing the course during the Masters. Patrons are permitted to nominate who can use their allocated badges pending the signing of an agreement regarding the nature of use plus acknowledgement of the rules implemented by Augusta National Golf Club regarding use of the badge. Strict rules including pre-payment of a security bond apply to ensure all patrons are appropriately behaved and to ensure the safe & punctual return of the badge immediately following attendance on your concluding day.

Our Hotels

We contract a range of hotels in Augusta for the Masters each year. Each of our hotels are highly comfortable, well serviced and perfectly suited to the needs of our US Masters golf travellers over the past six years.

Properties include the Howard Johnson Inn & Day's Inn in Augusta's Fort Gordon precinct (our most popular properties), the Hampton Inn & Suites (rated one of the best hotels in Augusta), plus Red Roof Inn (located on the Washington Rd strip). Each hotel is ideally suited for a US Masters stay and enables us to cater for a full range of budgets & taste.

We also offer private house rentals for those looking to bring a group and enjoy the comforts of a local home (please call us for a quote).

Upon return to the hotels each evening we enjoy complimentary beers, wine and snacks together before heading to the nearby restaurants/bars serving typically hearty US cuisine plus local & imported beers.

Each of our hotels provide twin (two separate double beds), double (one king bed) and single room (one queen bed) options. Additional features include a pool, dinner restaurant, fitness room, free Wi-Fi, ensuite bathroom, air conditioning and a flat screen TV in each room. Continental breakfast is served daily at the hotel and is included in your Fanatics package price.

Howard Johnson Inn - Our most popular hotel in Augusta is the Howard Johnson Inn, part of the well known 'HoJo' chain with hundreds of hotels throughout the States. Built in 2009 it is a modern facility offering excellent value for money and is definitely one of the better budget hotels found extensively throughout Augusta. We reckon the HoJo is the best in its class and is perfect for what most golf fans realistically require during their Masters stay, so it’s no surprise that it’s always the first hotel to sell out each year.

Day's Inn - Located in the same precinct as the HoJo and the Hampton Inn, the recently renovated Days Inn provides excellent quality budget accommodation during the Masters, with a range of rooms from doubles, twins (two queen beds) as well as suites.

Hampton Inn & Suites - For those who prefer the highest standard of accommodation in Augusta we also offer the Hampton Inn & Suites, one of the city’s newest and best rated hotels. In addition to its quality, being located only metres from the HoJo, a stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites enjoys all the benefits of being part of the whole Fanatics Masters experience and social schedule.

Red Roof Inn - If you’re looking to stay along the well known Washington Road strip, Red Roof Inn fits the bill perfectly. The hotel is walking distance from the course (2.4km/25mins walk to the main entrance of Augusta National) as well as the popular Hooters sports bar & other local eateries. In terms of hotel quality the Red Roof Inn enjoys the same quality as our other hotels such as the HoJo and Days Inn.

Los Angeles - Hilton LA Airport

Located minutes from Los Angeles International Airport, the Hilton serves its purpose well with its plush comfort and convenience. The hotel offers complementary airport shuttle services every 15 minutes and its proximity to local attractions including the famous Santa Monica Pier & Venice beach mean you will have plenty to do on your arrival into Los Angeles.

The rooms are spacious with tasteful decor and modern amenities offering everything you’d need for your quick stay. The ample services and facilities on offer including 3 dining options, a bar/lounge, a pool, a fitness centre as well as 4 beautifully kept outdoor garden areas to enjoy and relax mean you can be sure that your Golfers Tour is off to a flying start.

San Diego - Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines

As the name suggests, the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines overlooks the glorious golf course and the Pacific Ocean. This impressive hotel boasts newly refurbished rooms, each with its own balcony or patio with views of the Golf Course, gardens, or the Pacific Ocean. The services are impressive with an outdoor heated swimming pool, award winning spa, café, restaurant and a bar/lounge all on site for you to enjoy.

The short 20 minute drive into downtown San Diego mean you can experience all that the city has to offer with minimum fuss, with the upmarket township of La Jolla on your doorstep.

Hospitality

Is It Worth Purchasing Hospitality?

In a word, no. Unlike most other golf events, there is no hospitality inside Augusta National. All the so-called "hospitality" options you might see advertised are unofficial and are located outside the grounds of Augusta National, meaning to visit them you need to exit the grounds and walk at very least several hundred metres to the venue in order to grab a sandwich and beer (which will cost you only $4 at the course).

It's completely impractical and sacrifices precious time at the Masters, and as such virtually no one uses it even though they've paid handsomely for the privilege. Experience has shown us that our very own complimentary hospitality back at the hotel each evening is everything you could wish for and perfectly tops off a fantastic day at the golf.

We are very happy to offer hospitality for those with their heart set on it. Just be advised that the feedback from those who have purchased it from us in the past runs a very familiar theme, they wish they hadn't bothered.

Please contact our office if you'd like details.

Testimonials

A brief selection of testimonials from our recent tours:

The trip was everything I expected and more. Worth every cent. You and Ryan were great, our Golfers Tour group very compatible and the larger group were good people also. Great memories!
- Colin Brammall (ACT) - 6 Night 'Amen' Golfers Tour 2017

Thank you again. There will be no shortage of people clammering for your services. A fantastic trip with The Fanatics!
- Louise & Richard Hendriks (Central Coast NSW) - 6 Night 'Amen' Golfers Tour 2017

I cannot praise the Fanatics enough for the professionalism of our trip. I was really impressed pre-tour with the communications and timely reply with answers to all of our questions. It was great once we arrived in LA to meet our experienced guide Dave. Our trip was well executed, but at the same time was slightly flexible to allow you to leave for the golf really early if you so wished. The golf courses that we played were excellent (Aviara & Torrey Pines). We were also lucky enough to make great friends on tour with a lovely Irish couple from the Gold Coast, both will be great friends for many years to come . Peter and I have already committed to going back with the Fanatics in 6 years time, but will have a warm up tour with the Presidents Cup in 2019 in Aussie. I thoroughly recommend the Fanatics Australia for any sporting tour.
- Mark Craven & Peter Dutton (Broken Hill NSW) - 9 Night Golfers Tour 2016

Thank you so much for an amazing weekend at The Masters. You guys made this experience greater than we could have imagined. Attending The Masters had been Justin's dream and I couldn't have made it possible without all of you. Thanks again!
- Justin & Kristen Irwin (Michigan, USA) - Weekend Tour 2016

The Masters experience was fantastic and I’ve hardly stopped talking about it since returning to London. Augusta is as beautiful as you imagined with countless natural viewing spots where you can see action on multiple holes and also be up close and personal to the golfers. The guys in the Fanatics group were great company and welcomed this non Aussie without any problems. Our rep was fantastic with his organisation and very welcoming.
The only time you spend in the room is for a well needed sleep and it served its purpose well. The evening drinks were great and gave everyone a chance to get to know each other and share tips for the next day. Most people went on to the neighbouring grill, aptly named Big Daddy’s, which had the perfect food after being on your feet all day. I can confidently say it was one of the best trips I have ever been on, well done Fanatics!

- Donall Murphy (Richmond London, UK) - Par 3 & Opening Round 2016

The experience of going to Augusta was sensational. The highlight for me was walking down to Amen Corner and when you first see the 11th and 12th greens in person it really takes your breath away. The event is so well run by the way they move the crowds through, whether in the gates entering, to the food stands to the toilets. There staff treat all the spectators like royalty. All three of us were happy with the HoJo, the staff were friendly and the rooms comfortable. All in all a very enjoyable trip and one I'll remember forever. Thanks to your team
- Matt Mills (Shepparton VIC) Weekend Tour 2015

My visit to The Masters was truly a wonderful experience. The course and surrounds are absolutely beautiful and not a blade of grass out of place. The whole event is really well organised, it all just flowed which is remarkable considering the number of people in attendance, and I did not hear a whinge or a moan from anyone. The highlight for me was being very close to the pin on the 2nd green on the first morning and watching Tom Watson make a beautiful birdie. He was only metres from me. It was golf at it’s best, and especially about such a great ambassador of the game. Just like to say many thanks for all your help in getting me to The Masters, a truly wonderful experience.

Prepare to witness history today as the world's best battle for their slice of glory. We head out to Augusta National bright & early again this morning to ensure you are one of the first through the gates and able to soak up every moment of the Sunday Masters experience.

Today presents a great opportunity to explore any holes you haven't seen as yet plus follow some of your favourite players hitting off early, before attention turns to the leaders around Amen Corner & the closing stretch of holes. If you're keen to secure a perfect viewing spot on the 18th green your experienced Fanatics reps will show you exactly where & how. The atmosphere around the course as destiny nears for one lucky golfer is simply unbeatable this afternoon, here's hoping there's a few Aussies in the mix! To truly complete your Masters experience, we always stay for the presentation of the green jacket before bidding farewell to Augusta National.

This evening is our final night together in Augusta and no matter who wins it's always the perfect reason for celebration.
