The Significance of the Closing CeremonyThe final act during San Fermin takes place at midnight on 14 July as the festival comes to a teary farewell at the Plaza del Ayuntamiento after 204 hours of non-stop fiesta. It's a truly authentic Spanish experience enjoyed by comparatively few overseas travellers, though word of its significance and appeal is inevitably spreading, with good reason.
The tradition of drawing San Fermin to a close commences with a full day of action including the daily bull-run at 8am plus all the usual street parades and festivities. What follows is arguably the finest of all the evening street fiestas in build up to the closing fireworks display and ceremonious finale.
As with the Opening Ceremony, though with a more sombre, almost spiritual reverence, thousands converge onto the streets and amass in front of the Town Hall in anticipation of the spectacular midnight closing ritual.
With candles swaying high in the air, the sound of Spanish folksong echoes through the city in an emotionally charged chorus before, finally, the thousands of flames are doused and red scarves removed to bring the curtain down on another year's festivities.
The Opening & Closing Ceremonies are equally significant events during the San Fermin Festival. So whichever option you choose you are in for an incredible Pamplona experience.
Friday 12 July - Pamplona ArrivalWelcome to Pamplona! Campsite check-in is available from 12noon. Campsite directions will be emailed to you two weeks before the festival. Upon arrival your tents are all set up and ready for you along with your camping luxury pack - or you can choose our campsite dorm bunks when making your booking. Extra nights can also be added when making your booking.
After you have checked in at the campsite you have the option of relaxing at the campsite bar or joining us in town where the San Fermin festival will be rocking again tonight.
Saturday 13 July - Bull Run, Bull Fights & San Fermin Street Party! Our two-night package begins today, check-in available from 12noon.
Start stretching! Our shuttle heads off bright and early this morning for the short ride into town and the amazing morning bull run at 8am, exactly like every morning of San Fermin. Get ready for all the madness as the bulls are released in pursuit of hundreds of sangria-inspired young men legging it through the narrow streets to the main arena.
After the bull run our shuttle returns you to camp where breakfast will be served. The day presents a great chance to grab a siesta, take a dip in the pool, work on the long overdue sun-tan and enjoy mixing with your fellow travellers.
Then it's time to jump on board our evening transfer into town ready for the huge nightly fiesta including street parties, a massive fireworks display, and loads of tapas bars pumping out the tunes. Our guides will ensure you get to enjoy all the best places to party with the locals.
After the fireworks our shuttle heads back to camp for a few hours sleep before we rise and shine early again for our shuttles into town for tomorrow's second bull run. Those who prefer to keep partying in town will need to take a taxi back to the campsite.
Sunday 14 July - Final Bull Run, Bull Fights & San Fermin Closing CeremonyThis morning our shuttle heads into town for our second running of the bulls and this time you’ll be there with a trained eye. It’s a great chance to experience the running from a different vantage point and catch the thrills and spills of all the carnage.
Early this evening we head in together ready for a full night in Pamplona, topped off with the incredible scenes at the Closing Ceremony with the spectacular fireworks display and ceremonial removal of the red scarves for another year.
