Snow Sports

There is no substitute for quality and Val Thorens is, quite simply, as good as it gets. The highest altitude resort in Europe, Val Thorens is part of the incredible Three Valleys ski area - the largest ski area in the world with over 600 kilometres of runs!

Of course the area also has incredible views at every turn, most notably the sight of legendary Glacier de Péclet from the Cime de Caron cable car - a breath-taking 360-degree panoramic view over more than 100 French, Swiss & Italian Alpine summits noted at the most beautiful view in the Alps by the Michelin Green Guide.

Val Thorens & the Three Valleys

Renowned for its snow quality and ultra-modern ski lift system, Val Thorens and the Three Valleys is a snow sports paradise. With runs for all levels plus carving, off-piste, ski touring, snowpark, boardercross and télémark options, there’s something to suit everyone!

Skifest Beginner Group Lessons

We have optional beginner group lessons available to add to your Skifest package. Lessons run on the first two days of the tour for two hours in groups of up to 8 people.

If you already have some skiing or boarding experience and want to take lessons to brush up, or if you'd like private lessons then these can be arranged with the local ski school, see our tour leaders in resort for details.

Ski Cross Snowpark & Fun Slope

The Val Thorens Snowpark offers both skiers and snowboarders the chance to test themselves on a freestyle course designed for a range of ability levels.

Sitting on 70,000 square metres, the Snowpark contains table jumps, rails and boxes plus a range other modules and an Air Jump mattress allowing you to test your tricks in complete safety! There are even weekly contests you can join or watch from the sideline!

For those at the beginners-end of the spectrum there's even a 900-metre Fun Slope course with over 50 modules including snow tunnels, bridges, spirals & banked turns - 3 minutes of action designed for skiers and snowboarders alike!

Off-Piste & Ski Touring

The Three Valleys is home to some of the most spectacular off-piste opportunities in the Alps. A number of guides are available in Val Thorens to take you to the pick of these including the glacier zones of the Vanoise or the incredible Maurienne mountain-side.

Ski touring tests your cross-country and downhill techniques in a two-hour Alpine work-out. A number of companies offer tours from Val Thorens and there is even a free taster session every Tuesday morning. Again, see our resort staff for details!
