Tarrant out of grand final rematch

Collingwood has lost full-forward Chris Tarrant to a hamstring injury for at least a fortnight ahead of Saturday night's AFL grand final rematch against Brisbane.

Tarrant injured the hamstring at training, balancing out Brisbane's loss of Jonathan Brown to suspension for this weekend's game.

Rhyce Shaw and Matthew Lokan return to replace Tarrant and Alan Didak (broken jaw).

The Lions were able to recall veteran Craig McRae from a hamstring strain, with Darryl White out for a further week.

Sydney will again be without forward Nick Davis for Sunday's match-of-the-round against Geelong.

The Swans also lost Ben Fixter to a hamstring, but Nic Fosdike and Amon Buchanan were promoted to the 25-man squad after muscle strains.

The Cats named four possible replacements for Brent Moloney (finger), including possible Geelong debutants Shannon Byrnes and Paul Koulouriotis or David Johnson.

Corey Enright will be given another week to prove he has recovered from a shoulder injury.

While Essendon captain James Hird was always an unlikely starter in Friday night's game against West Coast, his trip to Perth and appearance at training had raised hopes he could recover very quickly from a broken rib.

But he was not named.
