Brisbane will go into tonight's NRL clash against Manly at Suncorp Stadium without skipper Gorden Tallis, who's still being trouble by a neck injury.

Broncos prop Shane Webcke and goalkicking utility back Michael De Vere are also out injured, giving Sea Eagles coach Des Hasler hope of a big upset.

South Sydney forward Paul Stringer is also confident of an upset, believing his side is capable of beating Sydney Roosters for the first time since 1994.

Rabbitohs coach Arthur Kitinas expects a tough encounter at Aussie Stadium tonight against the Roosters, who are slowly shaking off a post Origin hangover.

The other NRL match tonight pits Melbourne against the 12th-placed Parramatta, which has lost four of its past five games.

Storm hardman Danny Williams will miss the Olympic Park encounter in the first of a possible 18-match suspension for striking Wests Tigers forward Mark O'Neill.
