Palmer set for big Aussie clash

Australian world No 4 David Palmer has advanced to the US Open Squash Championship quarter-finals with a 11-6 11-9 11-5 win over England's James Willstrop in Boston.

Palmer, who won the 2002 US Open and was runner up last year, faces a huge Aussie battle for a place in the semi-finals against South Australian qualifier Dan Jenson.

Fellow Australian Anthony Ricketts took world No 1 Peter Nicol to the limit in a classic contest.

Rickets, who is seeded 13th, eventually went down 8-11 11-7 11-5 9-11 11-9 in a five-game marathon.
