London Broncos have signed colourful back row forward Solomon Haumono on a two-year rugby league contract.

The Auckland-born 29-year-old, who represented Tonga in the 1995 World Cup and played one Super League Test for Australia, has enjoyed an extensive career in the National Rugby League with Manly, Canterbury Bulldogs, Balmain Tigers and St George Illawarra.

He also found time for boxing four years ago and briefly held the title of New South Wales heavyweight champion before rejecting an offer to join the stable of American promoter Don King and returning to rugby league.

"Solomon is a very talented player and a responsible person," said Broncos coach Tony Rea.

"He'll fit in well around here."

Haumono joins Mark McLinden, Luke Dorn, Tyrone Smith and Zebastian Luisi as the fifth player in the past week to join the Broncos, who are expected to announce further signings this week.
