Paula Creamer and Christina Kim of the United States shot four-under-par 68s, leaving them two-strokes ahead of Annika Sorenstam after the Swede pulled back into contention with a 66.

Laura Davies and overnight co-leader Carin Koch were three strokes off the lead. Davies shot 70 and Koch carded 73. Lorena Ochoa had a 69 while Australia's Karrie Webb shot 70, putting them four strokes behind.

Hawaiian 15-year-old Michelle Wie, who opened with a 75, shot 70 to trail the leaders by nine. She is one-over-par 145 for two rounds.

Like Wie, the 18-year-old Creamer is another talented teenager. She holed seven birdies and had three bogeys. The 21-year-old Kim, who has played every tournament this season, had five birdies and dropped just one shot.

Both are hoping to qualify for the US Solheim Cup squad, which will be named on August 28. Ten players qualify on points, and two are captain's picks.

Kim is fifth in the points standings and Creamer is 13th.

Sorenstam had seven birdies - her longest putt was 11 feet - and dropped only one shot when she was caught between clubs and hit a pitching wedge into a greenside bunker at the 10th.

Wie hit 10 of 14 fairways and got her driver under control. In the first round, she hit only two fairways en route to a 75.

Marisa Baena, who shared the first-round lead with Koch and Lynnette Brooky, had a 75 to fall five off the lead. Brooky slumped to an 80.

Japanese star Ai Miyazato seldom got close to the pin, holing her only birdie on the 18th for a 76 to trail by 12.
