Leading NBA pointscorer Allen Iverson produced a marvellous 53 point game for Philadelphia but it wasn't enough to stop the 76ers losing 111-108 to Atlanta.

Joe Johnson scored 24 points, grabbed nine rebounds and dished out eight assists for the Hawks, Zaza Pachulia also chipped in with a career high 23, to overshadow the dazzling display by Iverson.

For Iverson, who also had six rebounds and five assists, the 53 points were the most ever scored at Atlanta's Philips Arena and fifth highest single game total of Iverson's career.

Iverson's efforts, however, weren't enough as the improving Hawks notched their third win in four games.

In Orlando, Kobe Bryant scored 21 points and handed out nine assists guiding the Los Angeles Lakers past the Magic 104-88.

In Miami, Vince Carter matched a career high with 51 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the New Jersey Nets downed the Heat 95-88, stretching their season high win streak to five games.

In Auburn Hills, Richard Hamilton had a game-high 28 points and a grieving Rasheed Wallace added 19 points as the Detroit Pistons eased past the Golden State Warriors 97-85, extending their win streak to six games.

Wallace, who also pulled down six rebounds in Detroit's 21st win of the season, was in the Pistons lineup still coming to grips with the death of his cousin in a shootout with police a day earlier.

In Cleveland, Drew Gooden scored 21 points while LeBron James was held to a season low 14 points but the Cavaliers still managed to record their fifth straight win with 94-89 triumph over the Indiana Pacers.

In Charlotte, Elton Brand poured in 38 points and pulled down 20 rebounds sparking the Los Angeles Clippers to 97-88 win over the Bobcats.

In Phoenix, Gilbert Arenas poured in 41 points and the Washington Wizards survived some sloppy foul shooting in the final minute to fend off the Suns 112-111.

In New York, Jamal Crawford scored 28 points and Stephon Marbury chipped in with 22 as the Knicks pulled out of seven game losing skid with a 98-90 win over the Utah Jazz.

In Memphis, Mike Miller had 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Grizzlies mauled the Chicago Bulls 95-77.

In Minneapolis, Ruben Patterson drained a season high 23 points to lead the Portland Trail Blazers past the Minnesota Timberwolves 91-83.

In San Antonio, Tim Duncan hit for 27 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out eight assists guiding the Spurs to a 95-90 win over the Toronto Raptors.

In Milwaukee, Michael Redd scored a game high 36 points to lead the Bucks past the New Orleans Hornets 101-94.

In Denver, Carmelo Anthony scored 25 points as the Nuggets shut down the Houston Rockets 108-86 to snap a four game losing skid.
