The South Dragons are still celebrating their first NBL win after player-coach Shane Heal guided them to a 96-86 win over Cairns Taipans in Ballarat on Sunday.

In his second game at the helm, Heal shot 15 points in the first quarter on his way to 26 for the night to help the Dragons to their first win in what was the seventh match of their debut season.

In Singapore on Sunday night the Sydney Kings produced a solid third quarter to beat the Slingers 90-83.

Perth continues to lead the NBL ladder from defending champions Melbourne followed by Sydney and Brisbane.
