Bradshaw and Brennan face scans

Brisbane pair Daniel Bradshaw and Jared Brennan will have scans on Monday to determine how long they will be sidelined due to weekend injuries.

Full-forward Bradshaw appears likely to miss several AFL matches after straining his right hamstring.

Brennan, who was on crutches on Sunday, is an unlikely starter for Saturday night's Gabba clash with North Melbourne after spraining his left ankle.

Both injuries were sustained during Saturday night's win over Fremantle at Subiaco.

The two latest blows to key players continue a bad run of injuries for the top four contenders this season, with Jed Adcock seriously injuring his knee in the previous round.

The Lions are also missing ruck duo Matthew Leuenberger and Jamie Charman with long-term injuries.

Dockers' key defender Chris Tarrant will also need scans to assess for possible cartilage damage after hurting his knee during the same match.

Collingwood key backman Nathan Brown is another who will need to be assessed, after hyperextending his left knee during Saturday night's loss to Hawthorn at the MCG.

Hawks skipper Sam Mitchell was concussed during that game, when he had the football kicked into his head, but appears unlikely to miss any football.

Mitchell spent time off the ground being assessed during the game, but returned to play a key part in Hawthorn's strong second half, before resting out the final minutes when the match was decided.

Meanwhile, Sydney defender Ted Richards' season is almost certainly over after he suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung in Saturday's heavy loss to Carlton at Etihad Stadium.

Richards was left coughing up blood after colliding heavily with teammate Craig Bolton and Carlton's Brendan Fevola in a marking contest late in the match.

He was taken to hospital, where he will remain for two to three days before requiring ground transport to return to Sydney.
