The All Blacks have expanded their squad for the final two Tests of the Tri-Nations series to cover for players carrying injuries.

The 30-man squad named on Thursday included flanker Adam Thomson, lock Tom Donnelly and utility back Colin Slade for Tests against South Africa and Australia later this month.

Thomson will provide injury cover as Kieran Read recovers from a knee injury and Donnelly will cover for Bryn Evans.

Slade, who played in the Junior All Blacks in June and July, will provide cover in the backs because of injuries to centre Conrad Smith, and utilities Luke McAlister and Tamati Ellison.

All Blacks squad:

John Afoa, Dan Carter, Jimmy Cowan, Wyatt Crockett, Aled de Malmanche, Stephen Donald, Tom Donnelly, Jason Eaton, Owen Franks, Hosea Gear, Andrew Hore, Cory Jane, Jerome Kaino, Tanerau Latimer, Brendon Leonard, Richie McCaw, Mils Muliaina, Ma'a Nonu, Kieran Read, Joe Rokocoko, Isaac Ross, Sitiveni Sivivatu, Colin Slade, Rodney So'oialo, Adam Thomson, Neemia Tialata, Brad Thorn, Isaia Toeava, Piri Weepu and Tony Woodcock.
