South Sydney coach Jason Taylor says he did nothing wrong during an incident which resulted in him being knocked out by forward David Fa'alogo.

Taylor was issued with a contract breach notice by the NRL club on Thursday following the altercation on Sunday at an inner Sydney hotel.

He has until 5pm AEST on Tuesday to show cause why his contract should not be terminated by the Rabbitohs.

"I've done nothing wrong, I want to keep coaching the team and I love the club, simple as that," Taylor told the Nine Network on Friday.

Taylor viewed CCTV footage of the incident which reportedly shows him slapping Fa'alogo before the Kiwi international punches him down a flight of stairs.

Taylor has employed a lawyer to help him as he fights for his job, Nine reported.
