Smith, Sharpe head Eales Medal hopefuls

Former winners George Smith and Nathan Sharpe have been listed among the top five contenders for the 2009 John Eales Medal.
Adam Ashley-Cooper, Matt Giteau and Benn Robinson join the pair as the major candidates.
The medal is decided by peer votes with the players collecting points on a 3-2-1 basis during each Test from the 2008 Spring Tour through to the final Tri Nations match against New Zealand last weekend.
