Waterhouse relishing Morley match-up

Trent Waterhouse is relishing the opportunity to lock horns again with England prop Adrian Morley and, this time, hopes the former Sydney Roosters star will stay on the field for more than 12 seconds.

Waterhouse will embark on his third Kangaroos tour when the squad flies out on Friday to play England, New Zealand and France in the UK and Paris at the inaugural Four Nations tournament.

And the 28-year-old said he has great memories of playing in England, where he made his Test debut in 2003.

"It is a great place to go and play, the atmosphere the crowds and the big stadiums," the Penrith second-rower told AAP.

"I played my first game for the Kangaroos out there and it was unbelievable. Big Adrian Morley was sent off after 12 seconds and it was one of the hardest games I have ever played in and I also managed to score a try.

"The crowd were going absolutely crazy when he was sent off, it was unbelievable.

"I think Mick Crocker was also sin-binned for us after a blue with Brian Carney and then we managed to win the game with a try right at the end.

"It was such an amazing introduction to international footy."

Morley's sending off in the Aussies' 22-18 win at Wigan for a high tackle on Robbie Kearns was one of the quickest dismissals in world sport and Waterhouse is looking forward to going up against him once again.

"I have played against him lots of times from when he was at the Roosters and he is a top-class player and a very tough opponent," Waterhouse said.

"Hopefully he can stick around for a bit longer this time!"

Waterhouse is one of only five players in Tim Sheens' squad who have toured before, having also been part of the 2005 squad, but he is unconcerned about the lack of experience in the side.

"All the players selected are top quality and have lots of experience at both Origin and international level," he said.

"You can feel the excitment building among the players and as we get closer to Friday and we can't wait to get out there and play."
