South Sydney skipper Roy Asotasi will lead out a monster pack for Saturday night's Charity Shield clash against St George Illawarra at ANZ Stadium.

Asotasi, who will play his first game of the year in the traditional pre-season clash, will be flanked by plenty of muscle with Luke Stuart and Eddy Pettybourne to be joined by new recruits David Taylor and Sam Burgess in one of the biggest packs ever fielded.

Burgess will line up at lock, the same position from which he terrorised opposition defences in last year's Four Nations, coach John Lang naming his strongest possible line-up with only the injured Michael Crocker missing the game.

Team: Rhys Wesser, Nathan Merritt, Colin Best, Beau Champion, Fetuli Talanoa, John Sutton, Chris Sandow, Luke Stuart, Issac Luke, Roy Asotasi (capt), Eddy Pettybourne, David Taylor, Sam Burgess. Interchange: Scott Geddes, Shannan McPherson, Ben Lowe, Jason Clark, Luke Capewell.
