John Smit has been switched back to tighthead prop to face the Brumbies for his 50th Super rugby game as Sharks captain.

Smit was once again moved across the front row from hooker to prop by coach John Plumtree on Thursday ahead of the Sharks' match against the ACT on Saturday.

Fellow South Africa front-rowers Bismarck du Plessis and Tendai Mtawarira were also recalled to the starting lineup, with their team looking for its first win of the 2010 competition.

Flanker Keegan Daniel and winger Odwa Ndungane have been passed fit. Daniel has been moved to the bench, with Jacques Botes starting at No.6 as part of the Sharks' rotation policy.

The Sharks lost 25-21 to the NSW Waratahs in Sydney last weekend, their sixth successive defeat including pre-season warmup games.

Sharks: Stefan Terblanche, Odwa Ndungane, Adrian Jacobs, Riaan Swanepoel, J.P. Pietersen, Andy Goode, Ruan Pienaar; Tendai Mtawarira, Bismarck du Plessis, John Smit (Capt), Steven Sykes, Johann Muller, Jacques Botes, Willem Alberts, Ryan Kankowski. Replacements: Craig Burden, Jannie du Plessis, Alistair Hargreaves, Jean Deysel, Keegan Daniel, Rory Kockott, Waylon Murray.
