France call up Porical for South Africa

France coach Marc Lievremont on Wednesday called up uncapped Perpignan full-back Jerome Porical for a 30-man squad to tour South Africa and Argentina in June.

Porical, 24, and 21-year-old Biarritz flanker Wenceslas Lauret are the sole debutants in a squad that will be missing Toulouse hooker William Servat, Racing-Metro lock Sebastien Chabal and Clermont flanker Alexandre Lapandry.

"There are certain notable absentees as we manage fatigue and game-time issues," said Lievremont.

"William Servat has played three seasons back-to-back at a high level and we'd prefer to leave him rest so he can fully benefit from the off-season.

"It's also the case with Sebastien Chabal, who is suffering with a back problem, and also the case with Alexandre Lapandry."

The squad sees the welcome return of Biarritz prop Fabien Barcella, boiler-house pair Romain Millo-Chluski (Toulouse) and Pascal Pape (Stade Francais), and Perpignan centre Maxime Mermoz, whose Six Nations campaign was cut short through injury.

Toulouse outside-half David Skrela has profited from his club's good form to make his first appearance in a French squad since November 2008.

Lievremont also explained that the non-selection of flankers Fulgence Ouedraogo and Antoine Burban, winger Alexis Palisson and outside-half Fabrice Estebanez was because their respective clubs had recently refused to release them for the France sevens team.

France will play South Africa in Cape Town on June 12, an Argentinian provincial selection in La Plata on June 18 and Argentina in Buenos Aires on June 26.

France squad: Forwards (16): Fabien Barcella, Thomas Domingo, Dimitri Szarzewski, Guilhem Guirado, Nicolas Mas, Luc Ducalcon, Jean-Baptiste Poux, Romain Millo-Chluski, Lionel Nallet, Pascal Pape, Julien Pierre, Imanol Harinordoquy, Louis Picamoles, Thierry Dusautoir (capt), Julien Bonnaire, Wenceslas Lauret. Backs (14): Dimitri Yachvili, Morgan Parra, Francois Trinh-Duc, David Skrela, Maxime Mermoz, Yannick Jauzion, David Marty, Mathieu Bastareaud, Vincent Clerc, Marc Andreu, Clement Poitrenaud, Jerome Porical, Aurelien Rougerie, Julien Malzieu.
