North rookie injured in bar attack

North Melbourne rookie Alan Obst was hit in the head by another man in an unprovoked attack in a Melbourne nightclub on the weekend, the AFL club said on Monday night.
The Kangaroos said Obst, 23, suffered a "severe" cut to his lip and bruising to the side of the head when he was struck from behind in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Obst was with friends at a bar when the incident occurred, the club said.
North said in a statement they could not comment further as police were investigating the incident.
