Judd tips Saints in grand final

Brownlow Medallist Chris Judd has issued a clear warning for Collingwood - beware the vengeance that last year's grand final loss has fermented in St Kilda.

Judd has tipped the Saints to win Saturday's AFL premiership in an upset, based on his past experience.

The Carlton star said he expects they will take the same attitude into the game that Judd and his winning West Coast teammates adopted against Sydney in the 2006 grand final after losing the decider to them the previous year.

"It's a hard one. Obviously Collingwood have been the best team all year," Judd said on Tuesday.

"I just have a feeling the Saints might be able to bottle it up and keep it to a really low-scoring game and get the points.

"You often see teams lose a GF one year and are just able to use that experience to their advantage the next year."

He said the Eagles' desire to make up for their loss to Sydney in 2005 was so intense they felt they owned the flag the following year.

"It definitely felt like that," he said. "That experience, as soon as we lost the game in `05 it already felt like we were really gearing up for the next season.

"It just sort of felt like it was inevitable we were going to be able to get over the line.

"Whether or not that happens this weekend, we'll have to see.

"I would probably go with a bit of an upset but I certainly think it's going to be an amazing game."
