Cox fully fit for Eagles

A fit Dean Cox is serving as an exciting sign for West Coast, but coach John Worsfold knows his team has plenty of improvement left ahead of Saturday night's pre-season cup semi-final against Collingwood.

Cox struggled through 2010 with groin troubles and wasn't able to have the usual impact expected from the four times All Australian ruckman as the Eagles fell down the AFL ladder and finished with the wooden spoon.

Worsfold is delighted with Cox who had 16 possessions, seven marks, 23 hit-outs and two goals on Sunday against Gold Coast.

"He has had a good pre-season and hasn't had the lingering injuries. He's definitely trained hard and is fitter as a result," Worsfold said.

"It was about letting him get a feel for his role there and I thought he did that pretty well. He makes things happen there's no doubt about that."

Worsfold was also happy to get a half of football into reigning best and fairest Mark LeCras and supremely talented youngster Luke Shuey.

"That was a good hit out. It was the first big amount of ground time, LeCras and Shuey got some game time into their legs, Adam Selwood came back and it was a good win," he said.

"I'm really pleased to win and it just shows that there are a lot of areas to work on still, though, and a lot of hard work ahead of us over the course of this year.

"We learnt a bit out of that game though. To get (Andrew) Gaff and Shuey through there was great, Scott Selwood, (Chris) Masten and (Brad) Ebert were all pretty solid."

With key players like captain Darren Glass, Beau Waters and Andrew Embley due back to take on the reigning premiers this Saturday, Worsfold is glad to have just about a full squad available at this time of year - aside from Daniel Kerr and Sam Butler.

"It's two more games for us to work hard in and make sure that we improve. It's about winning games in season and nobody is going to remember how well we went in the NAB Cup if we dont win early games. That's our absolute focus," Worsfold said.

"Beau Waters, Glassy, Embley, (Andrew) Strijk and (Mark) Nicoski might come in. Beau Waters, especially, is itching to get into it, Glassy will be keen to get back into it and they all will be I think. Kerry would be the only one unavailable other than Sam Butler."
