Hard-working backrowers Kevin Proctor and Ryan Hinchcliffe have earned contract extensions with the Melbourne Storm.

Hinchcliffe was the NRL club's player of the year in 2010, while Proctor has been one of Melbourne's best this season.

Hinchcliffe, 26, has signed on for a further two years while 22-year-old Proctor is on board until the end of the 2014 season.

The club are also hoping to lock up New Zealand international Adam Blair and winger Matt Duffie, who are considering lucrative offers from other NRL clubs.

"It's great to be staying with the club and I'm excited to secure the next couple of years of my career," said Hinchcliffe, who is a favourite of coach Craig Bellamy.

"I have developed a strong emotional attachment on the back of last year; I love the culture within the group and the direction under Craig's leadership."

Proctor has been part of the Storm system since 2008 after joining the club straight from school.

Born in New Zealand, he made his NRL debut that year and was part of the successful under-20 premiership squad.

"I have been with the Storm since I left school and I'm really stoked to stay with the club for another three years," he said.

Storm coach Bellamy was equally delighted about the re-signings, confirming they were an integral part of Melbourne's future plans.

"These are two very important signatures for our club," Bellamy said.

"I love coaching Ryan. He has a great attitude, is tough, resilient and you know what you get from him everyday in everything he does.

"Kevin has really impressed me, especially with his leadership during the summer when our rep players were not here.

"Also his effort to go back onto the field against the Cowboys after taking some heavy knocks shows he is the type of player you want in your roster."
