Shattered Canberra halfback Matt Orford admits coach David Furner's fury over the Raiders' 49-12 demolition by Wests Tigers was fully justified.

"The coach was really filthy with us today," Orford told AAP on Sunday.

"Every one of us got a spray and we all deserved it."

Orford said the embattled team let itself down withy repeated fundamental errors.

"It's basic, mate. It's errors, penalties, discipline and attitude. That's it."

"We got back into the game there...and we should have stuck at our game plan."

The Raiders halfback admitted it was hard to know where the team would go from here.

"We need to have a good honest look at ourselves as a group, be fair dinkum with each other and tell us whether that was our best performance."

He said the Tigers' kicking game gave them excellent field position, which made it very difficult for the Raiders to compete.

"They just played all their game down our end and you just scramble and do what you can to stop them,. But at the end if they've got all that possession they're going to get all the points."

Canberra's next assignment will be against a desperate Manly at Brookvale Oval on Monday week.

The match is expected to see the return of the Sea Eagles' fullback Brett Stewart from a hamstring injury.

Orford said his team should not focus on getting back into the race for the semi-finals and just take things one game at a time.

"We just need to turn our attitude around and just completely focus on Manly and Manly only....That's as far as it goes. 'Cause if we look any further than that we're going to be in strife."
