Illawarra name team of the century

St George Illawarra and NSW backrower Ben Creagh is the only current member of the Dragons side to be picked in the Illawarra team of the century announced at a gala dinner on Wednesday night.

Creagh was named on the interchange bench, with fellow Illawarra juniors Matt Cooper, Ben Hornby and Dean Young all overlooked for a place in the team.

Rugby League immortals Bob Fulton and Graeme Langlands fill the five-eighth and fullback roles respectively, with Trent Barrett selected at halfback.

Team: Graeme Langlands, Ian Moir, Harry Wells jnr, Paul McGregor, Rod Wishart, Bob Fulton, Trent Barrett, Steve Roach, Kevin Schubert, Craig Young, Ron Costello, Craig Fitzgibbon, Noel Mulligan. Interchange: John Dorahy, Shaun Timmins, Bruce Olive, Ben Creagh.
