The Western Bulldogs saw the future of their forward line on Saturday as Barry Hall went into AFL retirement.

Liam Jones kicked two goals in their 46-point win over Fremantle to win the last Rising Star nomination of the season.

Jones, 20, played 20 senior games this year for a total of 25 overall.

He kicked 19 goals this season and was ranked sixth in the league for contested marks.

"Playing in one of the most difficult positions on the ground, Liam has growninto a key component in our forward structure, leading the club in contested marks," coach Paul Williams said.

"We're excited with what he can produce with another full pre-season under his belt."

Jones is the Bulldogs' second Rising Star nominee this year, following Luke Dalhaus after round 21.

The Rising Star winner will be announced at a lunch this Wednesday in Melbourne.
