Port in the clear at AFL tribunal

Port Adelaide are in the clear, despite the AFL match review panel looking at three incidents from Sunday's physical Showdown.

The panel cleared Port Adelaide midfielder Matt Thomas of a match-day report for rough conduct against Adelaide defender Nathan Bassett, a tackle that has left the Crows backman in doubt for the weekend.

Power ruckman Dean Brogan has no case to answer for his bump on Luke Jericho, while the panel will take no action against Port's Michael Pettigrew for his contact with Scott Thompson.

In a busy day, the panel looked at 16 incidents and handed out five charges.

The panel also cleared West Coast midfielder Daniel Kerr of his involvement in three incidents.

Hawthorn midfielder Jordan Lewis, who missed the start of the season through suspension, faces another game on the sidelines for striking North Melbourne's Daniel Pratt.

Richmond forward Kayne Pettifer also must go to the tribunal if he is to avoid a one-game suspension for charging Collingwood's Nick Maxwell.

Lewis' team-mate Michael Osborne and Essendon duo Mark McVeigh and Adam Ramanauskas can take reprimands with early pleas.

An AFL investigation also cleared St Kilda veteran Robert Harvey of grabbing the groin of Western Bulldogs midfielder Jason Akermanis, saying the contact was accidental.
