Anthony Mundine will be offered $2 million to fight fellow Australian super middleweight Danny Green, the Daily Telegraph has reported.

Green's manager Jeff Fenech tabled the offer from promoter Glenn Wheatley to Mundine this week.

Green has already accepted a $1 million offer for the fight which is perhaps the most eagerly anticipated ever in Australian boxing circles.

While both have other fights locked in over the next few months Wheatley told the Telegraph he'd like to stage the fight at the 22,000 seat Superdome later in the year.

Fenech said Mundine had told him he would be prepared to fight Green after he dealt with Sven Ottke - the WBA `super champion' who has handed Mundine his only professional loss.

Mundine is the WBA champion while Green is the WBC interim champion.
