Third-seeded Alicia Molik trounced unseeded Tatiana Perebiynis of Ukraine 6-1 6-1 to win the WTA Tour's Nordic Light Open.

Always in command, Molik needed just an hour to clinch her second WTA Tour singles title after winning at Hobart last year.

Molik did not lose a set in her five matches in the Swedish capital.

After a short break Molik then won the doubles with Austrian partner Barbara Schett.

They beat Swiss Emmanuelle Gagliardi and German Anna-Lena Groenefeld 6-3 6-3.

Before coming to Stockholm, the Australian upset third-ranked Amelie Mauresmo of France in San Diego which boosted her confidence.

The 23-year-old Molik also reached the doubles final with Austrian partner Barbara Schett.

Sweden is hosting a WTA Tour event for the first time since the early 1990s when Bastad - site of one of the oldest men's clay-court events, the Swedish Open - hosted to the women on clay.

Stockholm's Olympic Stadium, built for the 1912 Summer Games, is the world's oldest Olympic venue still in use.
