Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly has been banned for six one-day internationals for his team's slow over-rate during the thrilling fourth match against Pakistan.

The visitors defeated India by three wickets off the last ball at Ahmedabad to level the six-match series 2-2.

Captain Inzamam-ul-Haq scored 60 and hit the winning runs as Pakistan finished on 7-319, its highest ever successful run chase.

India's Sachin Tendulkar earlier struck a flawless 123, hitting a tv cameraman on the head with one shot.

Vice-captain Rahul Dravid will lead India in the two remaining matches at Kanpur on Friday and New Delhi on Sunday.
