AFL Lions switch Power on

Brisbane midfielder Luke Power is set to make a surprise return from a broken hand after being named in the Lions' squad to take on Fremantle on Saturday.

Power was expected to be out for at least another week but was recalled to the embattled side by coach Leigh Matthews after coming through Wednesday's training session unscathed.

He will be joined by young gun Leigh Ryswyk and Chris Scott in the squad for the Dockers clash, with Matthews dropping Robbie Copeland, Martin Pike and Matthew Moody.

Power, off contract at the end of the season, has already fallen under Collingwood's big-spending radar with the Magpies keen to lure him back to Victoria for 2006.

The Lions face an almost impossible task in rescuing their season in Perth this weekend.

Brisbane, stranded in 14th place with just three wins from 10 rounds, have lost their last four games at Subiaco Oval and haven't beaten the Dockers since 2002.

Wounded Lions Jamie Charman (knee) and Nigel Lappin (calf) had hoped to make the trip west but were again ruled out with injuries.
