Three of Essendon's most famous names will turn out in tonight's AFL match against Geelong at Telstra Dome.

Jobe Watson, the son of Bombers legend Tim Watson, will make his debut and captain James Hird is back after five weeks out with a calf muscle injury.

Joel Reynolds, the grandson of Essendon great Dick Reynolds, is the other inclusion, while the Bombers have dropped Mark Mercuri and Steve Alessio and Dean Rioli is suspended.

The Cats have made four changes, recalling Dabid Clarke, Will Slade, Steve Johnson and James Bartel.
