England captain Andrew Flintoff was adamant his side had moved on from the devastating defeat in Adelaide, but admitted retaining the Ashes from this position would be his side's greatest achievement.

No touring team has ever come back from 2-0 down to draw a series in Australia, but Flintoff said his team was desperate to create history.

"We have created a lot of history in a lot of countries, and to come back into this series now would be the ultimate," he said.

"So there's the incentive. It is a very proud team, and they want to give a good account of ourselves.

"We came close in Adelaide, but this game we have got to go one further."

Australia: Ricky Ponting (capt), Justin Langer, Matthew Hayden, Mike Hussey, Michael Clarke, Andrew Symonds, Adam Gilchrist, Shane Warne, Brett Lee, Stuart Clark, Glenn McGrath, Mitchell Johnson (12th man).

England (from): Andrew Flintoff (capt), Andrew Strauss, Alastair Cook, Ed Joyce, Ian Bell, Paul Collingwood, Kevin Pietersen, Geraint Jones, Chris Read, Sajid Mahmood, Ashley Giles, Matthew Hoggard, Steve Harmison, James Anderson, Monty Panesar, Liam Plunkett.
