Kangaroos hopeful on Wells

North Melbourne are hopeful star midfielder Daniel Wells will only be sidelined by a knee injury for the next two AFL games.

Wells strained the medial ligament in his knee during the third quarter of Sunday night's game against the Western Bulldogs at Telstra Dome and could not complete the game, although the Roos won by three points.

But the Kangaroos are hopeful the injury will sideline him only for the next two games, against the Brisbane Lions and Geelong, at the most.

North are likely to be without Jess Sinclair for much longer though, as he injured his ankle playing in the VFL on Saturday and could be sidelined for up to six weeks.
