Gold Coast FC have signed another two talented youngsters as they continue to build a list ahead of the club's AFL debut in 2011.

The club has recruited TAC Cup stars Matt Shaw and Trent McKenzie, both 17, under special rules which allow them to sign 12 players born between January and April 1992.

Shaw, who currently plays with the Dandenong Stingrays, is described as a utility with a penetrating kick, while McKenzie, of the Western Jets, is a pacy left footer destined for the midfield or half back line.

Gold Coast coach Guy McKenna said he was excited to have the two Victorians join his squad.

"They are both impressive young men who have an appetite for the hard work required to give them every opportunity to play AFL football in 2011," he said.

The Gold Coast caused a stir last week when it lured NRL star Karmichael Hunt to switch codes.
