European champions Leinster on Wednesday signed Scotland and British and Irish Lions lock Nathan Hines on a two-year deal from French side Perpignan.

The Australia-born former Edinburgh forward, who has 58 caps, is one of four new signings at the Irish club.

Tight-head prop Mike Ross has moved from Harlequins, Australian back Shaun Berne has signed from Bath while hooker Richardt Strauss has also agreed a deal with the province after leaving Super 14 side the Cheetahs.

The four new arrivals join Ireland international scrum-half Eoin Reddan, who had previously signed a three-year deal from London Wasps.
