The Brisbane Lions have received good news on the injury front with a host of big names cleared to play Friday night's AFL semi-final against the Western Bulldogs.

Lions coach Michael Voss has declared inspirational skipper Jonathan Brown a certain starter despite a suspected fractured eye socket while Simon Black, Daniel Bradshaw and Daniel Merrett have also been given the all clear.

Voss was on Monday also hopeful highly-rated midfielder Jed Adcock would be available to make his return from a knee injury.

Defender Joel Macdonald is back in the mix, needing to pass a fitness test, after missing the stirring seven-point comeback win over Carlton at the Gabba with a back problem.

Black, Bradshaw and Merrett all starred against the Blues despite carrying injuries into the club's first final in five years.

An upbeat Voss believes he will potentially be able to select his strongest side of the season to take on the Bulldogs.

Brisbane suffered a three-goal loss to the Bulldogs in their only match this year in round 20.
