St Kilda and Geelong fans polls apart

It seems the only thing St Kilda fans have in common with their Geelong grand final compatriots is football.

According to a Roy Morgan Research poll, which has drilled into the likes and dislikes of the supporters of the two AFL grand final teams, the fans are like chalk and cheese.

St Kilda fans like horse riding and dancing while Geelong supporters prefer motor sports and winter sports.

Roy Morgan Research industry communications director Norman Morris said the data reveals that two different sets of supporters will be cheering on their favourite team on Saturday.

"Close analysis of the extensive research... across many different categories shows that although all supporters of the two competing football teams obviously enjoy their Aussie Rules, their other sporting pursuits differ greatly to each other," Mr Morris said.
