Former Fremantle midfielder Brett Peake will join St Kilda in the latest AFL trade.

The Saints and Dockers have confirmed that Peake will switch clubs in exchange for St Kilda's third-round pick at No.48.

The 26-year-old has played 75 senior games for Fremantle since his 2005 debut.

Peake's trade comes a day after St Kilda recruited Andrew Lovett, another pacy midfielder, from Essendon.

"He comes from a great football pedigree and has proven himself as a ball winner and versatile player since debuting in 2005," Saints coach Ross Lyon said in a media statement.

"He is a quick player who loves to run and carry the ball and we think he will be a valued addition to the St Kilda midfield unit."
