Magpies under scrutiny

Collingwood's bid to reverse a poor recent record against St Kilda could be made harder with Travis Cloke and John Anthony to face match review panel scrutiny on Monday.

Key forward Cloke appears in serious danger of suspension, after his raised elbow connected with the head of Port Adelaide's Travis Boak behind play in the opening quarter of Friday night's match at AAMI Stadium.

Unlike Cloke, Anthony was not reported on the night, but can also expect to be scrutinised over a bump which caught the Power's Daniel Stewart head-high, after Stewart dropped a mark in the final term.

The Magpies face a crucial match against the Saints at the MCG on Saturday, and the loss of Cloke in particular would be a big blow, given they endured a goal-less second half to go down to the Saints in round three.

That heated clash was Collingwood's fourth straight loss to St Kilda, including in finals in each of the past two seasons.

The Saints' win over Brisbane at the Gabba on Saturday night is also set to attract the match review panel's attention, with multiple fines expected to be handed out over a three-quarter time melee.

Every player on the ground was involved in the scuffle, after the Saints reacted angrily to the constant physical attention paid to returning star Nick Riewoldt throughout the match.

Hawthorn superstar Lance Franklin could also come under attention for a first quarter incident involving Geelong defender Tom Lonergan in Saturday's MCG clash.

A late tackle by Franklin slipped over Lonergan's shoulder, with his arm appearing to make contact with Lonergan's head.

While it was a low impact incident, if it attracts any sort of penalty, it will be compounded by Franklin's poor recent tribunal record.

Richmond midfielder Daniel Jackson was reported for rough conduct for an off-the-ball incident in the first quarter of Saturday night's match against Fremantle at Etihad Stadium.

The clash left Docker Hayden Ballantyne lying on the ground in pain and Jackson could also be hurt by his poor tribunal record.
