The AFL have confirmed next Friday night's Geelong-Fremantle semi-final will be at the MCG.

The league had left open the possibility that Etihad Stadium would host the game if Fremantle won, because of the potential for a smaller crowd.

But soon after the Dockers won their elimination final against Hawthorn on Saturday afternoon, the AFL confirmed that the MCG would be the venue.

The loser of this Saturday night's Collingwood-Western Bulldogs qualifying final will meet the winner of Sunday's Sydney-Carlton elimination final next Saturday night in the other semi-final, also at the MCG.
