Former NRL star Phil Blake has joined the Wallabies' coaching staff for their spring tour of Hong Kong and Europe.

Blake has been coaching Manly Marlins in NSW rugby's Shute Shield for the past four seasons, including a semi-final appearance this year.

He has replaced Richard Graham as the Wallabies' skills coach on a short-term contract, the Australian Rugby Union said in a statement on Tuesday.

Blake joins Wallabies head coach Robbie Deans and assistants Jim Williams and David Nucifora for the five-Test spring tour.

The Wallabies depart on Saturday and play the All Blacks in Hong Kong on October 30.
