Collingwood's Swan fit to play Swans

Collingwood have declared Arizona training-camp trio Dane Swan, Darren Jolly and Brent Macaffer available for Saturday night's AFL clash with Sydney at ANZ Stadium.

The trio returned from a mid-season high-altitude camp in the US refreshed, although the fourth member of the group, premiership defender Nathan Brown, has been ruled out for 2011 with a knee injury.

Triple Copeland Trophy winner Swan is set to return after missing Collingwood's most recent game against Melbourne with a leg injury.

Ruckman Jolly, who has battled a knee problem, might face a comeback through VFL ranks after not playing since round five.

Macaffer hasn't played seniors since round two.

"We are all in a position to play this weekend which was always the goal," Jolly told Collingwood's website collingwoodfc.com.au on Monday.

"We set out on the (two-week) trip with the intent to fast-track our fitness and get it back to where we can play again."

Jolly, 29, had arthroscopic surgery in late April.

"The knee felt really good. The docs have checked me out and I am in a position to play," the ex-Swan said.

"Whether that's in the AFL or VFL side, we will have to wait and see."

Brown's slim hopes of an AFL return in 2011 have ended following knee surgery.

The 22-year-old had an operation on Sunday to repair his right patella after a fall last week in Arizona.

"Brown will undergo a significant rest and rehabilitation period before recommencing training for the 2012 pre-season," the Magpies said in a statement on Monday.

The former North Ballarat junior - who suffered a potentially season-ending ruptured anterior cruciate ligament injury earlier in the year - damaged the patella in his other knee during a hike.

There was no further damage to his reconstructed knee.
