The Sydney Roosters could be without Test forward Craig Fitzgibbon for a month of the National Rugby League season after he damaged his knee in his side's 22-6 loss to Penrith at Telstra Stadium.

The Panthers dominated the grand final rematch, with fullback Rhys Wesser helping himself to two tries.

In today's games, Canberra prop Luke Davico was expected to have a fitness test before taking his place against Parramatta at Canberra Stadium.

Youngster Aaron Payne comes into the North Queensland squad for its clash with the Wests Tigers in Townsville, who have given Junior Kiwi Bronson Harrison a first grade debut.

And South Sydney meets Cronulla at Aussie Stadium in tonight's other game.
