Inclement weather washed out the final day of Australia A's four-day Top End tour match against India A at Cazalys Stadium in Cairns.

Umpires Paul Reiffel and Bob Parry decided shortly after lunch to abandon the game without a ball being bowled on the final day.

India A was set to resume at 0-117, needing 365 more runs for victory, after opener Robin Uthappa (67no) and Gautam Gambhir (40no) saw off Australia A's quicks during the final session of day three.

Australia A opener Phil Jaques was named man of the match after scoring two centuries.

Jaques, who made his Test debut last summer, made a stunning case for a recall with 240 in the first innings and a quickfire 117 in the second innings.

His second innings knock came on the same day his rival for an Ashes berth, Justin Langer, blasted 234 not out from 279 balls in the English County Championship.
