Raiders' Thurling appeal rejected

Canberra forward Trevor Thurling has had his appeal for a two-match suspension rejected by NRL judiciary deputy chairman Paul Conlon on Friday.

Thurling was found guilty of a grade-one dangerous throw at a hearing last Wednesday for his lifting tackle on Wests Tigers hooker Stuart Flanagan.

Thurling pleaded not guilty to the charge for his role in the same tackle for which Raiders teammate Ben Jones accepted the early guilty plea.

While Jones is free to play, Thurling is out until Canberra's round-nine away game against the Roosters because of loading and 93 carry-over points.
